Here's what some players have to say about the CCG:

Thomas Schmid

The ground rules for GoT are covered in about 5 minutes. Therefore a new player can start the game right away. You focus on the cards your playing rather than have to have remember a tome of rules. The cards you´re playing have all necessary information printed on them. Even the different phases of a round are written down the house card of each player. This makes for smooth game playing.

The game does not take too long. Although experienced players can play against each other for an hour or more, most games are over within 30 minutes. So if you do not have much time, you can still drop in for a quick game and be on your way again.

Well, and the background of the game is just fantastic. Fighting takes place in a dark and medieval world, where many roads lead to victory. Kill all your opponents characters or raid his shores, leaving him without resources; betray him and take away his cards, or just rush ahead in one mad power grab towards victory. So many options.

And the best of all: If you read the Song of Ice and Fire books by George R. R. Martin and you get a little confused identifiying all the many characters of the books, the cards actually help you as a visual who´s who directory of the people of Westeros.

So, are you game?

Arne Björk

A Game of Thrones is the only game I've played that combines highly interactive gameplay, great head to head play and the best card game multiplayer made so far. No other game has managed to combine these important aspects in such an enjoyable way.

If you have read the books this will almost certainly become your favourite game, and if you haven't read them, you will be dying to read them. And once you've read them, you will see how the game captivates all of your favourite characters and the world they live in.

Damon Stone

This game is fantastic. Every CCG has its strengths and weaknesses, AGoT is no different, but I have never seen a friendlier more supportive community than ours, a more aware or responsive company than Flight of Fantasy Games, or a more detailed and rich world than that of George R.R. Martin's. Rather than a single challenge type you have three which allows for more tactical planning and a wide variety of playable cards of all rarities which allow for strategic decks that don't require tons of rare cards which means trading or buying singles is usually pretty easy to put together a competitive deck on a budget. Just about every type of deck can be built within the environment, control; rush; offensive; defensive; backlash; subtle and overt... the choice is yours.

The game also allows for very casual social play and quite possibly the best multiplayer component in the business. Sit down and I'll let you go through a few decks and if you are interested we can try a game or two.
