Raven Evolved Instructions

 

Downloading Decks from www.gotraven.com

1) Login to www.gotraven.com

2) Build your deck on www.gotraven.com

3) After you have completed that, at the top of the page there is a link “download for Raven” - click that.

4) Here are a couple choices.

5) If you want to just play this deck, click “Open” and it will download and start Raven Evolved loading that deck. Very Easy.

6) You can also choose to Download the deck. This will allow you to edit using the Raven Evolved Deck Building. To do this, you must Download it to the “Decks” folder located under the Raven Evolved folder installed on your computer. (Default is: C:Program FilesRaven EvolvedDecks). Choosing this option, you will have to load the deck to play it, when Raven Evolved is running, see below for those instructions.

 

Uploading Decks to www.gotraven.com

1) Login to www.gotraven.com

2) Go to where you manage your Decks

3) Choose to upload a deck.

4) Find your Decks Folder (Default is: C:Program FilesRaven EvolvedDecks).

5) Pick the deck you want to upload.

 

Building a Deck on Raven Evolved

1) Start Raven Evolved

2) Go under the option “File” - then “Deck Builder”

3) From here you can open a deck to edit it, or  create a new one.

4) Use the search features to narrow your card search.

5) To add cards, double click on a card name on the right side list to add it to your deck on the left side list.

6) Choose your agenda if you have one.
7) Make sure you have 7 Plot cards, and 60 Playing cards

8) Save your deck when you are finished.

 

Playing Game of Thrones on Raven Evolved

1) Start Raven Evolved

2) If you have downloaded a deck from www.gotraven.com and chose the “open” option you can skip the next step.

3) Go to “File” and then “Open Deck”

4) Now that your deck is loaded in the game, you may click draw, and mulligan as many times as you like, and it will not effect the game.

5) To start the game, click on “Network Game” and then choose “The Rookery (Online Raven Server)”

6) Put your name in the “Player Name” section
7) The IP address and Port number can be found in the Raven page on www.gotraven.com.

8) Then Click Connect.

9) There you will find people playing, or waiting to play.
10) At this point create a game or join one. If you create one, you will have to come up with a name for it. If you join a game, then click the game under “Available Games” and then click Join.
11) At this point a fresh 7 cards are dealt to you. You may choose to Mulligan one time.
12) Double click on a card to Play it.
13) Drag cards to your Player Deck, Dead Pile, or Discard Pile to put the card there.
14) To view your cards, you can find the option in the “View” menu. Under “Search your Deck / Dead / Discard Piles.”
15) To view and play your Plot cards, you can find that under “View” menu under Plot Cards.
16) To communicate with your opponent all you have to do is type in the “Game Chat Window”.
17) If you need to show your opponent any cards, you can find that under the  “Show My Opponent” Menu.
18) To kneel a card, double click on it.
19) To Stand a knelt card, double click on it
20) To add a power to any card, including your house card, right click on it and choose “Add one Power to…”

Toolbar Menu Options

File

  1. Open Deck: This is where you can open a deck you have built or place in your “Decks” folder to play with.
  2. Deck Builder: This is how you get to the deck building program for Raven Evolved (If not using the online version found at www.gotraven.com  built by Tzu-Mainn)
  3. Registration: This will be used in the future for the ability to use the newest cards. At this time, this is not necessary because the only rule we have from FFG is a 6 month delay at which point the cards are open to everyone, and registration is not necessary.
  4. Quit Raven: Ummm, Quit.

View

  1. Plot Cards: To View, Play, and organize your Plot Cards, and Plot Discard Pile.
  2. Search your Deck / Dead / Discard Piles: This brings up a window that allows the ability to view your cards in your deck, and your and your opponents discard / dead pile. This also allows you to move cards from your dead / discard pile to your hand (right click on the card in that list)

Show My Opponent

  1. My Hand: Show your hand to your opponent
  2. My Deck: Show your Deck to your opponent

Save

  1. Save Game Chat Text and Clear: This is a way you can save everything typed during the game.

Network Game

  1. The Rookery (Online Raven Server): This is how you connect to play Game of Thrones CCG. See above for instruction on how to do that.
  2. Disconnect from Current Game: Hmmm, Disconnects from the current game.

Special Decks

  1. I will not go into all these options. Basically these are decks that are hard coded into the program. These decks are available to play at any time.

Right Click Options

1) View Plot Cards: To View, Play, and organize your Plot Cards, and Plot Discard Pile.

2) Flip a coin: Here you can choose Heads, Tails, or flip the coin. Usually  one person calls it, and the other flips it… after it is called

3) Keep Initiative: Tell your opponent that you are deciding to Keep Initiative.

4) Pass Initiative: Tell your opponent that you are deciding to Pass Initiative to them.

5) Marshaling phase: You can tell your opponent that you are finished Marshaling, or you can search your deck which bring up your deck to pick a card. This also tells your opponent that you are searching your deck.

6) Challenge Phase: This gives you  communicative options to reveal to your opponent. For example if you are initiating a military challenge, then you click “Declare Military Challenge”

7) Discard Random card from your hand: Most of the time (not all) this is used when you loose a intrigue challenge. You can click this option more than once, if you have to discard more than one randomly.

8) Stand all your cards: This is used most of the time during the Stand phase. It is just an easier way to stand all your cards rather than double clicking them all.
9) Shuffle your Deck: Shuffles your deck!
10) Claim Dominance: This does not add power to your house card, it only tells your opponent that you are claiming it.
11) Search your Deck / Dead / Discard Piles: This brings up a window that allows the ability to view your cards in your deck, and your and your opponents discard / dead pile.
12) Phase: Decaring what Phase you are in.

 

Right Click on a card in your hand

1) Put card into play face down: This allows you to put a card into play face down. This is used with events that  allow you to do so.

2) Put card into play hidden: This is so you can put cards in your discard pile, deck, or dead pile without your opponent seeing it.

 

Right Click on a played card

1) Add one power to this card: Adds one power to that card.

2) Remove one power from this card: Removes a power from this card.

3) Give control of this card to your opponent: this is an option used for when an opponent takes control of it with an even or an attachment.

4) Turn card face up: This is used if you have the card face down, and need to flip it up.

5) Turn card face down: This is used if you have the card face up, and need to flip it down.

6) Put card on top of your deck: Does exactly that.

7) Put card on bottom of your deck: Does exactly that.

 

Right Click on a House Card

1) Add one power to House Card: Adds one power to that card.

2) Remove one power from House Card: Removes a power from this card.

3) Agendas: This allows you to change / add/ or remove your agenda

4) Change House Card: Changes your House card to the house that you choose.

5) House Card Set: Not used at this time.

 

Right Click on a Discard Card

1) Shuffle Discard Pile: As Stated

2) Put Random Card into Play Face Up: As Stated.

3) Put Random Card into Play Hidden: As Stated.

4) Put *top* card on bottom of deck: This puts the top card of your discard pile, and puts in at the bottom of your playing deck

 

Right Click on a Player Deck

1) Put top card into discard pile: Puts the top card of the players deck into the discard pile.

2) Put top card into Play - Face Up: As stated

3) Put top card into Play - Down Up: As stated

4) Put top card into Hidden: As stated
